I think Travis changed from not liking the dog to liking the dog because the dog saved Travis's brother's life.

Yes. Travis's hatred changed to liking Old Yeller. It changed because the dog saved little Arliss. At first Travis didn't like the dog,then he did.

At first, Travis was not scared during the fight with the bear. Travis was ready to fight, but then his mom called him and he became scared. He realized the situation he was in was dangerous. I agree with everyone that Travis was bothered by his brother and the dog at first, but after the fight he liked them better. Dawson-Villa

At first Travis' character trait was doubtful he was doubtful because he thought he could never save Little Arliss in time. Travis's traits change from careless in the beginning of the story, to loving and thoughtful in the end of the story. This is because Old Yeller saves Little Arliss's life. He also changes when he thinks about how much he really loves his little brother. You don't know what you really have until its gone. Stenson-Money

I think Travis changed from beginning to end of this passage by seeing his helpless brother get chased by a bear, which made Travis only have to like Old Yeller for saving his brother's life.

In the beginning Travis doesn't like the dog for many reasons. In the end he changes his feelings about the dog. After Old Yeller saved his little brother, Travis began to love Old Yeller as much as his brother.

ReplyDeleteYes, some charcater traits changed because in the beginning he felt that the dog was nothing but a meat-stealing rascal and Arliss was anoying. But at the end when Old Yeller was fearless and went roaring at the bear like a mad bull to protect Arliss, he came to love the dog that saved his brother. Also when Travis ran and yanked Arliss out of the water to save him, he learned that he did this because he really loved him. Q

I think Travis is the main character. Because he changed character traits about not liking old yeller, and at the ending he ended up loving old yeller because he had saved his brother's life.

In the beginning of the story he cared a lot about being like his dad and working his hardest and at the end of the day he was really tired, but when he heard his brother was in troble he leaped up and ran his caring for his brother filled his tiredness. So it shows he cares for his brother a lot.
